These days AHAs and BHAs have a huge hype and are common ingredients in skin care products. AHAs and BHAs stand for alpha hydroxyl acids and beta hydroxyl acids respectively. Unlike skin scrubs which are granules, these are chemical exfoliants that remove the dead cells from the skin. Some people believe that AHAs and BHAs have anti-aging properties as well, however, researchers believe that these may sensitize the skin to sun rays.

Products that contain AHAs have the ingredients like
Glycolic acid, Lactic acid, Citric acid, Hydroxycaprylic acid, and Hydroxycapric
acid. Products that contain BHAs are Salicylic acid, Beta hydroxybutanoic acid,
Tropic acid, and Trethocanic acid. If any of your skincare or beauty products
contain the above acids, they have AHAs and BHAs in them.

the products for the first time.
2. The products must be used as recommended.
3. Sunscreen must be applied after using the
product.
A doctor or a dermatologist is the best person to
tell which type of exfoliating is best suited for your skin. Mild chemical exfoliants
can be used if the skin is dry or acne-prone, however, it is not at all
recommended to use strong chemical exfoliants without the advice of the doctor.
